Thanksgiving at the Poulsen's

We spent Thanksgiving with our friends Katie and Brendon. Katie made the best rolls and tons of them:) Our dinner turned out to be soo yummy, minus the gravy. We sweetened up the Turkey so much that the drippings made an interesting dessert type gravy. It went right down the drain, soo sad:( Later we lounged and played us some Mad Gab-uh huh!

Aiden was soo tired as you can see and Chris was pretty much zoning out.
Awwwe-after all of the food making, we were totally done, the husbands did the dishes (that's right). This blanket is soo comfy, it is the best, so everyone wants it!

JUST HANGING OUT!

Riley took this picture! Chris, Ashton, Brendon, Aiden and Katie. A night of movie watching and hyperactive kids, I'm sure.

A visitor!

My mom came to visit! Our first visitor because of the expensive flights. We had a lot of fun shopping, eating out and getting pedicures. We also did a lot of relaxing and even played some scrabble. It was just what I needed, Thanks Mom! While she was here, Chris and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary-wow! My mom watched our kids while we went out for Sushi, we were in Sushi heaven. We went all out, we had seared tuna a spicy crab salad, sushi rolls galore and just regular sashimi. The food was our present to each other-yeah. Happy Anniversary to us.

No pictures-PLEASE! Texas Roadhouse

That's Riley right before the food came, she was hungry and therefore grumpy.

It's Grandma's Birthday!

My mom was here on her Birthday, so she opened her presents! The kids love their Grandma.

Now that is the look of SURPRISE!

The Pit.

We went downtown Iowa City for some good BBQ and that it was. Chris and I had delicious pulled pork sandwiches with sweet potato fries, I got his to go because he was STUDYING!?! My mom got a good ole cheeseburger and the kids ate none other then chicken fingers. We also had to try the fried oreos. I got three, so my mom and I got one each and we had to save the last one for chris (it was hard, we were soo close to splitting it). Being the good person I am, the oreo made it home to Chris' tummy!

Happy Birthday Ashton!

Ashton is now 5 years old! We celebrated his Birthday with friends at Chuck E. Cheese's. On his actual Birthday he opened more presents and we went to Cold Stone for ice cream-yum! Ashton is in preschool and loving every minute of it. He plays with his friends David and John everyday. They play Xbox a lot (Lego Batman is the new favorite) and if they're not doing that, they are playing star wars outside). He is such a fun little guy and always has a hug for Aiden if he is sad. We love you-Ashton!

Ashton and his fun presents from family.

The Birthday boy! Ashton was soo excited to go to Chuck E. Cheese's, he had a ton of fun.

Just one of many crazy ideas they come up with.

Happy Birthday Riley!

For Riley's Birthday we had pizza and cake, then I painted the girls finger nails. We blew plastic bubbles and Riley opened up her presents. The party ended at the park-- Yipeee! It seemed like a success. I can't believe that Riley is 7 years old, she is getting soo big! She loves reading and is reading chapter books with expression (her teacher has been working on this with the class). She even helps other classmates with their reading. Riley loves clothes, but no matter how many I buy, she still has nothing to wear-Ahhh. She goes to gymnastics and just started girl scouts, but she would be just as happy to stay home and play with her friends. We love you Riley!

Finally, we cleaned up the garage.

The weekend before Chris started school, we spent three days painting, putting up shelves and organizing the garage. I think that it looks really good for a garage. Our friends Katie and Brendon spent hours helping us, thanks you guys! Most of the storage seems to be bins full of kids clothes. Someday, when I no longer need them, I will get rid of them all! I have been all about organizing lately. I have gutted and reorganized pretty much every closet and drawer in our house.

Happy Birthday!

Chris' Birthday was August 10th. My family celebrated by going to Texas Roadhouse. The Sirloin Medalions are so yummy, they melt in your mouth. Chris' present was a massage chair (pad that goes on a chair, not the chair) and some sunglasses. I made him a Wacky cake for dessert.

The last week in Utah, we went bowling and to dinner with my sister, Jamie and her husband, Bobby. The night started out a little depressing though, Chris had been having swelling and pain in his armpit. As some of you know, he had melanoma about two years ago. He had to have some lymph nods removed from both of his armpits as well as a bunch of skin from his chest. To make a long story short, he thought that the cancer had returned in his lymph nods. He had been on line reading about how he was going to die for a couple of days. He was so worried and sad and so were we. Luckily, he had an ultrasound, saw his Doctor and it was just normal swelling and a pulled muscle. As you can see from the photos, we all had a good time.

Bowling

Justin and Alicia's Wedding. Mom, I had to cut you out because your eyes were shut-so sorry.

Uinta's

Chris' parents have some property in the Uinta's, so we went camping two different times with them. This was the last trip, we rode the ATV's up to Lily Lake and had a picnic.

Bear Lake

I kinda mixed up the pictures, so they are out of order. Cool picture! Riley, Justin and Ashton enjoying the water.

Ah, mosquitoes!

Alicia and Justin

Riley and Katie playing in the water, it was the perfect day.

The cousins are ready to go to Bear Lake.

Oh how pretty!

We took a little hike down to this river, but were quickly attacked by mosquitoes.
